Welcome to today’s blog everyone,
Today let’s talk about GATE or ESE =>
First of all, I want to say both are great opportunities for an engineering career. It totally depends on a person what he/she wants from his engineering career. I will list down some differences which, will provide a clear mind map towards both the exams.
Beginning with GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering), it is a technical engineering exam based on your domain of engineering. It requires strong application of topics, concepts and critical mindset. This exam can provide you with two options: Job in PSU (Public Sector Unit) or M.Tech in IIT / any govt. institution. The options can be selected based on the GATE score you obtained; however, the problem arises when you want to join IIT for your M.Tech which, course/campus to choose. I would suggest select the campus-based on the domain you want to pursue, for instance, you want to do M.Tech in Thermal go for IIT Bombay, M.Tech in Computer Science join IIT Bombay or Delhi, M.Tech in Electronics/Optics join IIT Delhi and M.Tech in Electrical join IIT Kharagpur these are few examples and are the top-rated department of the specific campuses.
Next, the Engineering Services Examination (ESE) consists of the technical part of engineering + general studies which is different from the GATE exam in the syllabus as well as the pattern of the exam. Doing a preparation of ESE provides you with a great knowledge of concepts and social study which, is even helpful for various State exams. It consists of three milestones, i.e., prelims exam, mains exam, and then a personal interview. The exam provides you with the opportunity to join various reputed govt. departments, e.g. Ministry of Engineering Services, Indian Railways, Telecommunication and Broadcasting, etc. If you become an ESE officer that would be one of the proud moment of your life as you receive your joining letter by the President of India. I cannot express this moment of joy in words but would an unbelievable experience in your life. My preference would an ESE officer for our nation rather than PSU.
Thanks in advance for reading it...
